Anticipation

Apprentice

Anticipation is a tool which a Master uses to prepare a slave for what may or will happen. When someone anticipates something, if it happens they will be less surprised by it and better able to do what is required when it happens. Much of the resistance to something can be removed by the knowledge and anticipation of it happening as the slave is prepared in advance. It is Layered with other tools and activities to support them.

Anticipation can also bring on a stress situation when a slave knows something will happen but not what, when, where or some combination. This stress can have an effect similar to a stress position as it puts stress on both the body and mind. When the anticipation is released especially if in a positive or pleasurable way, stress and fear hormones are reduced and pleasure ones are increased in an amount which may be greater than just whatever was pleasurable or positive was done in the first place. The release is greater than the original stress. It can also be the anticipation of a punishment and the release when the punishment is over or it is both over and less than expected.
